This is necessary for excavation works

The central mining and processing plant, which is part of the Metinvest group, intends to expand dump No. 6 for placement of overburden. This is reported by the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

According to the documentation, the planned activity is determined by category No. 1 – “operations in the field of household and other waste management (treatment, processing, utilization, removal, disposal and burial) with a volume of 100 tons per day or more.”

The terms of the reconstruction and the amount of funds for the project are not made public.

As GMK Center reported earlier, in July, Central Mining repaired the mill of the technological section No. 8 of the Central GOK. They replaced the armor on the drum, scoops, loader nozzles and the feeder housing. Even earlier, the plant began scheduled repairs at the crushing plant. This type of equipment is the center of the mining’s production process. The height of the entire complex is 16 meters.

Also, in 2021, Central Mining reduced production of iron ore concentrate by 2.1% compared to 2020 – up to 4.8 million tons. Production of pellets decreased by 0.5% – up to 2.26 million tons.

Central Mining is among the five largest producers of iron ore in Ukraine. It specializes in mining and production of ferrous metals: concentrate with iron content of 65% and 68.2%, as well as pellets with iron content of 63.9%.
