According to the results of January-July 2023, the regional branch Prydniprovska Railway of Ukrainian Railways (UZ) restored 1368 freight wagons belonging to UZ, its subordinate enterprises, as well as private structures with various types of repairs. This is stated in press release on the branch site.
“In the regional branch of the Prydniprovska Railway of Ukrainian Railways (UZ), close attention is paid to the technical condition of the rolling stock, because the stability and safety of rail transportation depends on it,” the report says.
For 7 months, the wagon depots of the main line repaired 1187 freight wagons by depot repair, and 181 units – capital.
In January-June for capacities of the Prydniprovska Railway repaired more than 1.2 thousand freight cars, including 1071 freight cars with depot repairs, overhaul – 159 units.
In 2022, more than 2.9 thousand freight railcars were repaired in the regional branch of Prydniprovska Railways. Part of the railway’s car repair capacity is currently located in the temporarily occupied territories.
As GMK Center reported earlier, during the past year UZ restored 2,929 thousand freight railcars, including 691 railcars through major repairs. In addition, railway operator reconstructed and overhauled 470 km of tracks. UZ also electrified 82 km of tracks, which is a record for the last 10 years.
In 2021, UZ increased the repair of trucks railcars by 54.7% compared to 2020 – up to 20,471 thousand units. Semi-railcars were repaired the most during the year – 9,352,000 units, which is 34.2% more year-on-year.
